About Us

What is Klesis?

Klesis is a Christian club and campus recognized student organization at SJSU.

Klesis is a Greek word which means “divine invitation.” College is full of invitations, but this is a special one! So whether you’re a Christian who wants to grow in your faith, experience fellowship, or just are curious about what Christianity is all about, we invite you to join us!

Meet Jammy and Hannah

Jammy and Hannah lead Klesis at SJSU and have served in college ministry for 20 years, first at UC Berkeley, then at UC Riverside, and now here at SJSU!

Jammy is an avid Lakers fan and enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Hannah loves to cook and try out new places to eat! Both are lovers of coffee, and would love to have coffee chats on any topic!

Meet The Council

Bradley O. | President

Computer Engineering - 3rd year

Hello! I am Bradley Okajima. I enjoy making Spotify playlists, going on drives, and finding new hobbies to waste money on. I am also involved in a professional fraternity and other engineering organizations, so if you see me running around campus feel free to say hi. Klesis has been such a blessing throughout my college career. It has always been a safe space to take a break from the craziness of college life and a place to grow deeper in my faith. If you are interested, I hope that Klesis can be that foundation for you too!

Fun Fact: My oldest known ancestor is a Samurai

Sofia F. | Treasurer

Electrical Engineering - 3rd year

I grew up attending church since I was little and would consider my relationship with God to be good but still going through a lot of growth. I would often play on the worship teams at my home church and would also help out sometimes in the children’s service. I joined Klesis during my freshman year and was grateful to have a place where I could share experiences in my faith with like-minded people and I hope all newcomers can have the same great experiences that I have had.

Fun fact: I like to play video games or play music in my spare time.
